Week Three Part 1

I looked at the Durham County Public Library wiki and can now see how and why it is useful. It looks like we're ahead of them by having every staff member have orientation and volunteer coordinators.

I could see how wiki's could be helpful when planning a party or a trip with a large group.

For the second part of this session I did try to find some wikis by doing a basic google search. For Hilton Head it was limited, I couldn't find one on decorating so I did a search for best wiki sites where I was lead to a site with many random wikis. Maybe I need to dig deeper...

Okay, so I just made an avatar (after I asked my office mate what an avatar was). Not bad, cute purse, good hair day. So now I'm trying to upload it. Interesting - have no clue on how to do that. As I'm writing this I see a tab for monetize. Sounds pretty good and I'm guessing that it means making money off this blog somehow. Sign me up. However I do find it odd that it's easier to find out how to make extra cash than upload a picture. What am I missing?

I still feel like a baby foal trying to blog, very wobbly but am sure that one day I'll run.

24 Things Project

As I start on this 24 Things project, I have just learned that I am a Desktop Veteran, meaning the what I knew in 2004 is what I know now (in other words I have a Blackberry but it took me 3 days to figure out how to make a phone call on it).

I hope to learn a lot through this project! Although as I re-read my instructions for this week I realize I am to put the link to this blog in here, so here goes. If this isn't correct, someone will have to let me know.
